Patterson seeks to frame someone from the Visa application list to get the blame for this prison break. He wants them to act as a scapegoat so he won't have to take responsibility for anything. Varian wants to expedite his plans to fill DuBois's boat. It doesn't exactly make Patterson's subordinates pleased. Eventually, the receptionist brings up Hans' name as the true mastermind behind the break-in.

Back at the office, Varian learns that around 50 people have been persuaded to use DuBois’s boat to get out of Marseille. However, the place is completely empty, a consequence of Dillon, our American yes-man, being put in Varian’s position

There is a little window in the corridor where up to 300 people can sneak out. It will only work if all the migrants meet up there that night to prepare for the morning's departure. Time, though, is essential.

With the expectation that Bill's fake documents will work and let them in, the yacht in issue goes to Martinique. Unluckily, one of the refugees in the Villa tells Varian the unpleasant news when he learns about it later. Since he can read Mandarin, the document really states the contrary of what he hopes for—that they will never get admittance.

With all the local prisons nearly full up, Varian is starting to panic. He needs entry Visas for a lot of the refugees leaving town. The Chinese ones are absolutely no good now. The police are getting ready for a mass-round up too, so Varian relies on Bingham for help. Bingham is in a bind himself though. Patterson is breathing down his neck and wants results no matter the cost.

That evening, Varian tells Albert about the truck convoy he and Paul spotted earlier. Despite his worries that they would face serious issues as a result, he believes it is time to arm himself and get ready for a bloody uprising. Varian urges Albert to use the US Visa that Ursula has secured for him and leave because he isn't so sure that this is the proper play.

That evening, Bingham returns to the office undetected and starts frantically setting up as many Visas as he can. Patterson arrives to meet Frot at the same time. He tells him the prison break at the fault of Paul and "the concierge," Hans Fittko.

While the police move en-masse in the morning, Bingham drops off the Visas to Varian. He gives them to the various passengers as they prepare to leave Marseille. While they all say their goodbyes down on the docks, Frot leads his men into the hotel, where they take Paul away in handcuffs.

The jig is up and Patterson realizes that Bingham is the one responsible for setting up fake Visas. Bingham is not aware of this and when he shows up at the office again, Patterson nonchalantly fires him from his role and tells the guy to get out.

Mary Jayne decides those who remained in Marseille should celebrate their victory after 257 people have fled. But, Albert notes that there are still 9 million Jews in the world, so it's not really a win. Mary Jayne advises that they marry, leave the country, and then remarry so that he may become a legal US citizen and escape Hitler's and the Nazis' tyranny. Albert finally decides that they should travel to America together. The second concierge, Petit, rushes over as the episode comes to a close and begs Albert for assistance. He says that Paul is in custody.

Transatlantic is now streaming on Netflix.
