The first episode of this revenge thriller starts with James Reece smashing the SEAL pin into a coffin of a fallen soldier. The movie then seeks to fill the composite through a montage by taking the viewer to a past mission led by James Reece to capture a terrorist called Kahani. Their enemy has the upper hand, and Reece loses most of his men. One of them sets off a bomb, and even Reece is injured. He is rescued, and the only survivor beside him is Boozer.

After Reece and Boozer are flown back to safety, he tries to convince the military and an old friend (Ben), who is also in the CIA, that the failed mission was a setup. He even has contacted a reporter, Katie, about the possibility of the same and hopes to get more information. They all do not seem to buy his narrative, but Ben promises to check with a high-contact. Ben drops Reece off to his family, but he has the trauma of losing his men and the death of Boozer, which is dubbed suicide, adds to his troubles.

Reece buries his men, handing out flags to their families, and the Secretary of Defense awards him the Navy Cross. Reece’s trauma makes him even hostile to the reporter who wants to help him; at this point, he is convinced that he needs help. At the mental clinic, he is told that he may be having an engram. He falls asleep and wakes up to masked men looking to kill him. Even though he manages to fight them off, he later finds out they murdered his wife and daughter.
