Farr enquires if he has heard of night action and then describes the duties of the position. Peter thought that she was going to hire him as a night agent. Peter responds that she is asking him to serve as a glorified 9-1-1 operator and she emphasizes that she wants him to answer the phones for the night agents. He is told by Farr that unless a night agent is in danger, the phone never calls.

She adds that this will help him advance his profession and open up new opportunities for him. It will be challenging for him to accept a higher offer given his father's heritage. Farr corrects him, explaining that at a zoo, you should always want to be the one making decisions. The zookeeper is the one who has all the keys.

Peter replies that they would arrive at the White House in an hour when Farr asks if he heard her in the present. Peter muses after hanging up on Hawkins' decision to abandon his 30 years of service and turn traitor. Yet, Rose seems unconcerned with the circumstances that led to Hawkins' untimely death. She is more worried about Peter's determination to carry out his directives and desire to travel to the White House within an hour.

Peter informs her that they have the tools necessary to decrypt the hard disk there. Rose contends that they might be providing the White House criminal with evidence. She believes that a person who would be willing to kill the FBI deputy director is not only dangerous but also strong. Rose says that visiting the White House is perilous regardless of whether Hawkins was clean or dirty. She replies that she is still not going when Peter asks whether she believes that everyone in the White House is filthy.

The Night Agent — Season 1, Episode 3 Recap

Peter claims that the matter is above his level and that he is too low level to defy an order. He thinks they can rely on Farr to keep them safe. Despite knowing who his father is, she was the only person who gave him a chance. He is placing his entire life's savings on her ability to save them.

He phone contacts Farr and informs her that Rose is reluctant to enter and that they would need some time. She promises to give them until the following morning at 10 a.m. When he inquires about Hawkins, she responds that they are looking into who he was with and that the President will receive a briefing in an hour.

The President knows that the officers have scant evidence and no witnesses or suspects. They can only be certain that he was murdered elsewhere and that his body was thrown on the farm. The President requests information and notification of when she can offer her condolences. In an unexpected turn of events, we discover the second man who was speaking with the hired killers among those in the room.

Farr stays behind and keeps the President informed of what is happening with Rose. She requests information about Campbell's mission from the President. The President accepts and requests that she take a seat.
