Stranger Things Season 4 Episode 7 Recap

e jump right into the action in episode 7 of Stranger Things, Season 4.

Steve is being attacked by a swarm of bat-like flying creatures in the Upside Down, but Nancy, Robin, and Eddie arrive to help and the group escapes.

In Russia, Murray successfully gets himself (posing as Yuri), Joyce, and the real Yuri into the secret prison where Hopper and Enzo are being held. They arrive in time to watch the prisoners fight the Demogorgon. Hopper is able to hold off the monster with a makeshift flaming spear, while Joyce and Murray subdue the guards and open the prison doors. Hopper and Enzo escape and reunite with Joyce and Murray.

In Hawkins, Dustin, Lucas, and Erica theorize that Vecna creates a new gate into the Upside Down at each of his murder sites. So, they travel to Eddie’s trailer and are able to communicate with Steve and the group trapped in the Upside Down. Robin and Eddie escape, but Vecna is able to possess Nancy. She is able to learn that Vecna is actually Victor Creel’s son, Henry, who killed his family with his psychic powers before falling into a coma and being placed in Dr. Brenner’s care!

Henry becomes subject number One in Brenner's experiments and eventually, we learn he is the orderly who befriended El years ago in the facility.

In the sensory deprivation tank, El remembers what really happened in the massacre and that it was Henry (Number One) who killed everyone and was trying to kill her when she refused to help him. Eleven was able to overpower Henry and sent him into the Upside Down, where he became Vecna - who has been behind all of the plots from the Upside Down since season 1.
