The Queen's displeasure with her union is known to Agatha. She tells Princess Augusta, though, that the couple is happy together. On King's Coronation Day, Brimsley discovers an unidentified doctor conversing with him. Reynolds requests that he keep his observation to himself nevertheless. While Reynolds may be loyal to the King, Brimsley is devout to the Queen and feels compelled to inform her about the doctor, which leads to a dispute between the two.

Charlotte expresses concern about the medical professional, but George dismisses her worries. Meanwhile, Agatha faces her troubles as she is coerced by her partner to pressure Augusta into hosting the first ball of the season. Despite the Princess' evasiveness, Young Lady Danbury decides to issue invitations.

The suggestion to allow someone of Agatha's social standing to host a ball has stirred up resentment among some members of high society, including Lady Ledger, who is the mother of young Violet. The idea of equality at the ton bothers Lady Ledger. Both Lord Ledger, Violet's father, and Violet themselves appreciate the new effort.

Agatha seeks the Majesty for assistance as she faces increasing pressure to cancel the gala. Charlotte realizes how dependent she is on others and can appreciate her partner's viewpoint. After reaching an understanding, the two put an end to their odd-day/even-day drama. The Queen then convinces the King, who typically shies away from social events, to attend Agatha's ball. The attempt is successful, and the ball successfully brings the two races together at the ton.

The Lord and Lady Danbury are delighted with the course of their evening. Lord Danbury naturally takes all the credit, which irritates Lady Danbury. Lord Danbury brings his hapless husband upstairs. As they are having intercourse, Lord Danbury dies, leaving a happy widow behind. In the present-day timeline, Lady Danbury and Violet Bridgerton meet at the church. To celebrate her late husband's birthday, the Viscountess is present. She enjoys remembering how much he treasured the homemade paper hats she used to make for the occasion. Lady Danbury congratulates Violet on her luck before departing. Lady Danbury's remark leaves Violet feeling betrayed and perplexed.

Violet informs Agatha that her remark was inappropriate when they first meet. Agatha recounts to Violet her own experiences as Lord Danbury's spouse, clarifying that when she referred to Violet's good fortune in having Edmund to share her love and happiness with, she was drawing from her marriage. Meanwhile, Queen Charlotte consults Brimsley on her daughter's marriage. He explains that due to the King's chronic illness, they could not marry because they did not want to leave their mother alone.

In a previous era, the Queen woke up in the middle of the night to discover George whispering and scribbling on the walls. She follows him outside and learns that he is conversing with the planet Venus while in the nude. The Queen then soothes him and tenderly escorts him back inside.

Queen Charlotte is now streaming on Netflix.
