The tour came with its problems, though, including much partying and dangerous drug use, leading to Daisy overdosing in Episode 8.

In “Track 9: Feels Like the First Time,” the first season’s penultimate installment, Daisy tries to go cold turkey, and her bond with Billy (Sam Claflin) only strengthens as the tour continues to move forwards. While a return to Pittsburgh brings up old issues and intensifies new dilemmas.

Daisy wakes up at the beginning of the story following her horrific near-death experience. By claiming that she partied too much, Nicky attempts to minimize the overdose. Billy is extremely honest when Daisy asks him about what happened that evening.

Daisy is appalled to learn that Nicky essentially abandoned her to perish. In front of the entire band, she expulsions him from space and her life. After this incident, Daisy stops using drugs, but the tour goes on as scheduled. She still has trouble performing and finds it challenging because she is constantly around partygoers.

Daisy tries to escape the parties and drugs, joining Billy on his quieter, separate tour bus. They have a real heart-to-heart.

Daisy wonders why she has everything she ever wanted but still feels unhappy. She says how Billy was right about Nicky and that she hates that Billy saved her life. Billy offers to get her some help, speak with Teddy, and book her into rehab, although Daisy doesn’t want that yet.

The tour tumbles on, and Daisy starts to take drugs again, albeit on a smaller scale. The band continues to build upon its skyrocketing success and play Saturday Night Live. Daisy stresses before the set, unable to find any pills, but she manages to get through the performance drug-free.

Simone signs her record deal while simultaneously watching their performance on TV. We can assume that the contract requires her to keep her sexual orientation a secret. Bernie, who no longer wants to conceal their relationship, talks with her about it.

Bernie advises that she rip the contract up.

Teddy goes to the hospital right away following the performance due to heart issues. The band stands guard outside his room. Billy feels as though he needs to resume drinking and is concerned about his friend and mentor.

They discuss fate, and Daisy notes how she has evolved since the overdose and given up her previous religious convictions. She thinks she passed away that night and didn't see the afterlife. Billy claims that joining the band may have saved his life and that he is happy to have met Daisy.

As soon as Teddy awakens, Billy is the first to go see him. Teddy is instructed to cut back on his heavy drinking, drug use, and smoking. Billy implores him to take this seriously because losing Teddy would be too much for him to handle. After hearing what is said, the music producer starts eating better.

Soon after Simone shows up there, Daisy apologizes to her longtime friend. They decide to put their argument behind them and move on.
