The duo's success in the disco scene only increases as they collaborate on new compositions. Daisy urgently texts Simone with the words "I need you" and no more information as the couple prepares to celebrate a record label agreement. Simone arrives home and begins preparing for a trip abroad. She realizes that Daisy has no family or other friends to turn to. She hopes of being able to get Daisy out of whatever situation she is in. Bernie decides to accompany them, and they soon reach Hydra, a tiny Greek island. They are in shock that Daisy isn't in a life-threatening scenario when they eventually meet her.

Soon after their initial meeting in Greece, Simone and Bernie get to know Daisy's fiance. Nicky Fitzpatrick (Gavin Drea) is his name, and he is not only well-off but also of aristocratic descent. Despite not even knowing anything about Daisy's life, he asserts that he and she are equally in love. Nicky is ignorant of her reputation as a band's main singer in the United States, as well as of her issues with addiction and loneliness. Daisy is oblivious to Nicky's personal life as well. She is shocked to learn from his pals that his parents died in a vehicle accident. Marriage is the best way to keep them both happy to avoid thinking.

Daisy wants to give up music to avoid experiencing the heartache she did with Billy. The protagonist no longer gets happy about her music or wants to tour with The Six. This comes after he revealed to Rolling Stone her battle with substance abuse and painted her as a problematic vocalist. Simone is upset at Daisy's lack of dedication to her career. Daisy's fan base and celebrity status are what she aspires to most. Simone considers this choice to abandon all the hard work and remain in Greece with Nicky to be an unrealistic one in terms of pursuing long-term happiness.

Daisy is getting ready to marry, and Simone is having a hard time admitting her feelings for Bernie. Despite being in love, the disco singer finds it unsettling to consider how a homosexual relationship might jeopardize her musical career. But, when she watches Daisy and Nicky's wedding on the sand, Simone suddenly gains the confidence to talk to Bernie. She doesn't feel as awkward engaging in PDA for the first time.

It's time for Simone and Bernie to resume their nascent music careers in New York. Before they part ways, Simone makes another attempt to persuade Daisy to join the tour and carry on pursuing her goals. Daisy disregards the advice. She believes Simone is forcing her to sing again because she is in love with her. The disco diva picks up her bags and moves toward the ferry back to the airport as the protagonist blurts this out during their dispute. Simone claims that she does love her buddy and that love entails telling someone you care about the truth when Daisy chases after her to apologize.
