In the captivating Episode 3 of "Bodies," audiences are immediately transported to the mystique of the 1890 timeline. It begins with Hillinghead and Henry's concerted efforts to uncover the secrets of an enigmatic corpse found lying on Long Harvest Lane. The unique hexagonal bullet hole they discover is more than just a wound; it serves as a revealing fingerprint of the shooter's societal standing.

When Henry identifies a potential suspect through an old photograph, the duo is led straight to the doorstep of the prestigious Harker estate, the residence of Lady Agatha and her son, Julian Harker. With keen observation, Hillinghead discerns a striking similarity between Harker and the individual from the photograph, leading him to believe that they've identified their prime suspect.

The intrigue only intensifies when Hillinghead is invited to a grand soirée hosted by Julian Harker. Hoping to glean some information, Hillinghead broaches the topic of the unidentified dead man. Julian's evasive response, combined with the unsettling effects of a drug he discreetly administers to Hillinghead, adds layers of suspicion. The plot takes a supernatural twist when Hillinghead, despite his dazed state, participates in a séance led by Lady Agatha. The spirit of Gabriel Defoe is summoned, and when questioned about his murderer, the ethereal voice denies Julian's involvement. Disbelieving and eager to flee, a drugged Hillinghead finds himself ensnared in a sinister blackmail scheme. Awakening the next day, he marks the lane's wall with his name, and in a vulnerable moment, confides in Henry about his fears regarding Harker, leading to a surprising romantic development between them.

Fast forward to the year 1941, the plot takes a darker turn. A young girl, having witnessed Whiteman's heinous act, steps forward to testify. However, Whiteman cunningly convinces the higher-ups of her supposed innocence, subsequently bribing her into silence. Yet, his malevolent agenda doesn't end there. He embarks on a chilling mission to permanently silence her, resulting in a harrowing scene that leaves viewers on edge.

As the timeline shifts to 2023, a sense of foreboding pervades. Inspector Barber is alerted by Hasan about a looming threat. Even with heightened security, the cunning Elias Mannix infiltrates her surroundings. Upon his capture, Mannix spews cryptic proclamations about his destined role in a bleak future for London, leaving Hasan profoundly disturbed. A subsequent exploration of Long Harvest Lane leads Hasan to a telling discovery: the name "Hillinghead" etched in stone.

The narrative leaps yet again to 2053, intertwining the fates of Defoe and Iris within the confines of the KYAL headquarters. Here, Defoe is confronted with a spine-chilling sight: his own convulsing body. Iris's pointed questions about his association with the extremist group "Chapel Perilous" are met with Defoe's claims of ignorance. However, a revelatory conversation with Commander Mannix illuminates the episode's central enigma: the corpse on Long Harvest Lane is none other than a future version of Defoe, linking back to time-traveling techniques potentially pioneered by Defoe and now possibly in the hands of "Chapel Perilous."

Despite its intricate narrative and ever-shifting timelines, the episode never loses its grip on the audience. The depth of storytelling and the unfolding mysteries of "Bodies" beckon viewers to eagerly await the next episode, showcasing the sheer brilliance of the show's creators.
