In the first episode of Black Knight, we learn that the Earth was hit by a comet, causing continents to submerge beneath the ocean. As a result, the Korean Peninsula has turned into a desolate region with dirty air. But because to technical advancements, particularly a huge Air Core built to turn oxyanium into oxygen, the location can survive.

Less than 1% of the population, the survivors, are in a new social structure on the basis of QR codes. General, special, and core are the three districts that make up the population. It is up to the group's surviving members to figure out life as refugees.

But ultimately they get sick of it and decide to recast themselves as deliverymen. In the end, the deliverymen take expensive items and give them to people in need.

Refugee Sa-wol is a brave person. He wants to work as a deliveryman like the well-known 5-8. A refugee might escape oppression by working as a deliveryman, and the number 5-8 is of high value to immigrants. A refugee also has no other way to get a QR code, and anyone caught with one while sheltering a refugee faces serious punishment.

Major Jung Seol-ah from the Defence Intelligence Command is looking after Sa-wol. Sa-wol has been living with Seol-ah and Seul-ah for over a decade. It becomes apparent that Seol-ah’s attempts to obtain a QR code for Sa-wol by means of official channels are futile. This indicates that there is an effort to preserve the current state of affairs.

Sa-wol's continual sneaking away and mischief-making while he's learning to be a deliveryman only makes things worse.

One of the few groups of people who benefit from the current state of affairs is The Cheonmyeong Group. The group's founders, a father and son team, are preparing something that is currently unknown.

A brand-new District A is secretly under construction. Seol-ah and a few other DIC members also happen to be there looking for information, and the revered 5-8 is also led there. After another reckless adventure in which he attempted to battle 5-8 while traveling to District A, Sa-wol comes home. Seul-ah puts Sa-wol Sa-wol in prison in a barren space in order to prevent his escape.

Seol-ah is out there with some other DIC members hunting for information, and 5-8 is lead there by a contact who doesn't meet him. Another factor is the covert development of the new District A. The Cheonmyeong Group appears to have the ability to put an end to demonstrations, make individuals vanish, and simply do business beneath the noses of "official" entities that appear to have no idea what they're doing at all.

However, it requires the Air Core, which we see in scenes 5-8 to go to District A.

Sa-wol misses an appearance from 5-8 since he is forcefully inside a room. Following that, a team of assassins break in. In an apparent attempt to abduct Seul-ah, they pin her down while they attempt to inject her. Sa-wol manages to break out and he ends up killing a couple of them.

However, Seul-ah is shot in the process and presumably dies. Thereafter, Sa-wol is shot from behind as the episode comes to a close.

Black Knight is now streaming on Netflix.
