Movie Review: The Batman
- Mar 27, 2022
Batman is a dark superhero film that dives deep into a psychological story. Every scene seems to take place at night or during rain. The tone of the opening narration sets it off right away. The sound of Nirvana just deepens the dark and heavy atmosphere.
Bruce Wayne gives us his view on how he brings fear to criminals- by staying in shadows and never revealing himself. The depth layer of the story is captivating; watching Batman may not be enough with its 3 hours run time - there's just so much going on!
The film works well as it's dark and sets that depressing mood. It has great action sequences with the fight scenes being well-choreographed, while we also have a lot of good performances from all actors. The director plays like an investigative crime film where Batman is solving the puzzle left by Riddler (played by Paul Dano). With Catwoman assisting him with his investigation, he will now be going after some criminal syndicates - Falcone and Penguin, trying to set Gotham free. The movie is gritty yet grounded when it comes to its action sequences. We're close enough to experience these things firsthand through cinematography perfectly timed.
