With Thing's assistance, she sneaks inside the County Coroner's office at the beginning of Wednesday's fourth episode. She wants to investigate the latest victim's body and find out more about the monster's victims. The coroner and sheriff arrive back at the scene, interfering with her investigation.

She listens to their chat while hiding in one of the morgue cabinets. The murderer is hoarding the objects he took from his victims. The coroner eagerly agrees when the sheriff requests that he keep this a secret. The fact that this is his final case before retiring excites him even more.

The following morning, Wednesday tells Edin about her findings, and Edin passes out when he sees the horrifying murder scene images. Later in class, Wednesday questions Xavier about his neck wounds, but he explains that he injured it while fencing. Wednesday monitors him since she doesn't believe him. On the campus of the school, she finds his hidden art studio and breaks in. Once inside, she discovers drawings of the creature, selects one, and then exits.

Prior to her departure, Xavier notices her and inquires as to her purpose. He replies that it is his private art studio in response to her question but declines to give her a tour.

Also delighted that Wednesday has changed her mind, Edin wants to get to know you better over dress shopping. But Wednesday has different plans and doesn't think they should go dress shopping. While in town, she approaches the sheriff and urges him to join them on their walk. The Mayor's repeated requests for an update and Wednesday's persuasion eventually convince the sheriff to agree. He asks her to bring him some proof, and perhaps they can identify a suspect together.
