Review & Recap: World of Willow on Disney+ Trailer

You may or may not remember the film ‘Willow’ from the 80s. It was a gem of a fantasy film written by George Lucas and Ron Howard. Although the movie didn’t break box office records, it has a loyal fan following.

Lucasfilm is reviving Willow on Disney and is bringing back the singular Warwick Davis in the leading role.

What the Trailers Tell Us About World of Willow on Disney

Lucasfilm has a couple of trailers to give viewers some hints about what they can expect from World of Willow. The first was a teaser trailer which didn’t give us much information. But, we did see familiar faces from the old movie, Willow, and some new faces.

A second trailer gave us a clearer picture of the plot, which is a continuation of where the 1988 film left off.

What Can We Expect from World of Willow on Disney?

No spoilers here, but to give some background, the original Willow was about a man named Willow who rescues a child close to his village. He fights to protect the child from an evil sorceress. In order to do so, he has to contend with creatures and villain allies of the wicked Empress Bavmordan. He is helped by a proud swordsman, Madmartigan, and others.

The new series will feature Kit, the daughter of Shorsha, recruiting Willow to rescue her twin brother.

The release date for the series is November 30, 2022. The cast will include Warwick Davis in the title role, Joanne Walley as Shorsha, Ruby Cruz as Kit, Erin Kellyman as Jade, Ellie Bamber as Dove, and many others.
