Apple recently announced its App Store Best of 2020 award winners, which include the top apps and games as selected by various editors. For 2020, the editors tended to select apps that helped people stay connected and healthy and generally make life easier.
You can find the full list here. Below are some highlights from the winners.
iPhone App of the Year – Wakeaout!
This exercise app provides short, 30-second movements designed to be done at home, in the office, your car, the backyard, or a local park. They also incorporate items you may find around you, from pots and pans to your desk or an outdoor bench.
The app is free to download and try for a week, with subscriptions ranging from $5 to $35 a year.
iPad App of the Year – Zoom
We probably don’t have to tell you much about Zoom, since it has become a staple in may households in 2020 either for work, school, or keeping in touch with family and friends. The platform grew from 10 million daily users in December 2019 to more than 300 million in April.
Zoom is free to download and use, but also has paid options for those who want to communicate with larger groups.
Apple TV App of the Year – Disney Plus
Disney Plus is Disney’s streaming video service, delivering content across the Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar catalogs. It has also added features like GroupWatch, to make it more socially engaging during 2020, when people couldn’t easily go to the movies together.
