Here is our recap of the latest episode in season 4 of Yellowstone. Only one more episode to go!
Kayce and the Wolf
Around the fire, Kayce sits with some of the Native Americans. He tells them of the wolf he saw on his property.
Chief Rainwater tells him the wolf is special. It is the hunter and the most hunted. It is kill or be killed. Man and wolf evolved together and Kayce needs to do better about understanding the wolf's presence and significance.
They do a ritual later that night with chanting and Kayce sets out to go after the wolf. Not sure what this part is all about but surely something will happen on their trek into the wilderness…
Political Race
Jamie talks political strategy with Christina and Garrett. While John's platform is being the opposite of progress, Christina tells him to be the face of it.
She advises letting Garrett into the spotlight but Jamie informs her that not only was he in prison, but he was in prison for murdering his mother.
Jimmy in Texas
Jimmy enjoys his time with Emily but is preparing to leave for about a week on the road.
He watches the horse show at the rodeo longingly. It seems he's become real affectionate towards horses in general.
He approaches Travis afterwards and Travis acknowledges Jimmy has learned a lot since he last saw him.
They see the stallion of the year, named Metallic Cat, being shown ($37 million in offspring earnings), of which Yellowstone owns half. But it looks like they'll be bringing Metallic Cat back up to Montana to stud at the Yellowstone, which means he'll be leaving Emily behind…
Beth Butts Heads with John
Beth is furious at her father for putting himself in danger yet again, right after his latest bout in the hospital. But what she's extra furious about is John not yet going after Jamie for the attack on their family. John informs her it wasn't Jamie. It was another man who is currently serving a prison sentence.
Speaking of prison, John makes a visit to the county jail. And there's a new sheriff in town. At least an interim one, who doesn't seem to want to buy into any of John's special rules. He lets John know he's not about to let anything slide under his watch.
John gets a chance to speak to Summer while there, who's under arrest for assault at the protest. Summer lets slip that Beth was the one that prodded her on, and John is able to put two and two together.
Beth had told Summer to "take one for the team" and to "make some noise". John knows what Beth was really up to when she did that and Beth is going to get an earful about it.
While Rip and Carter skip out to the bunkhouse so they don't have to witness the fight, it's more calm than you think. But John is firm. He tells Beth off for her dirty way of fighting, which always results in some type of collateral damage to people who didn't deserve it.
His words of disappointment hurt Beth more in a way she's never been hurt before. John didn't necessarily disown her or cut her out of the ranch, at least not in any official capacity. But he definitely hinted at it.
ets mad at john for putting himself in danger and vents her frustration for him not going after jamie yet for the attack. he informs her it was someone else
