Tension peaks when Ana, Emilio’s grieving widow, berates Tabarez, a visitor to the funeral. When Erin confronts Tabarez and mentions Daniel, his defensiveness betrays his allegiances: he's clearly shielding Daniel from within the police ranks.

As Jordi prepares to take Harper to his parents' house, he and Erin have a heart-to-heart. Jordi expresses reservations about the future of their marriage, citing the web of lies that has ensnared them. When Erin re-enters the house after bidding them farewell, she's alarmed to find Moses, Daniel’s aide, nonchalantly eating an apple in her kitchen. Despite her brandishing a knife, Moses remains unfazed and leaves.

At school, a confrontation between Erin and Olivia reveals that the latter had a role in sabotaging Erin's job opportunity. Olivia accuses Erin of emotional distance, claiming Erin's to blame for her own problems.

During a school event for parents, Daniel makes an appearance. Erin tries to maintain distance but ends up cornered. Daniel issues a veiled threat: his powerful bosses wouldn't hesitate to silence Erin and her family. This prompts Erin to take precautionary measures, like sleeping with a loaded gun.

The following day, Penelope stops by, inviting Erin for a night out to support Ana. Their interaction highlights the emotional depth their friendship has attained. Later, a disguised Lena visits Olivia and manages to get Erin's whereabouts through a veiled threat.

Fueled by Daniel's intimidations, Erin decides to take drastic action against him. Armed with his address, she confronts him only to be blocked by Moses. After a fierce fight, Erin gains the upper hand. She aims a gun at Daniel, who pleads for his life, citing his son Dylan. Hearing footsteps, Erin backs down and leaves.

Subsequently, Lena instructs Erin to drive to the hills, and the two spend the night driving. After divulging the location of stolen gold bars as a distraction, Erin's final plea to Lena for mercy falls on deaf ears. Lena shoots Erin and leaves her bleeding in the wilderness.

The series now fumbles in its execution, despite well-orchestrated action scenes. Erin's improbable combat victories strain credibility, considering her small frame and limited training as a police officer. The show has lost its original luster and devolved into a run-of-the-mill Netflix drama, lacking both excitement and unpredictability. In short, "Who is Erin Carter" now meanders in clichés, making its future trajectory all too apparent.
