The upheaval at Warner Bros. Discovery in 2022 caused chaos at HBO Max. Subscribers are understandably anxious about the streamer’s future content. The likelihood of some titles remaining on the platform or going to FAST service tiers. While we can’t predict the future, we can tell you that the lineup for HBO Max in 2023 is exciting.

In January, HBO released its live-action rendition of the popular video game titled The Last of Us. Whether you like the adult Scooby-Doo world program or did not like Mindy Kaling’s Velma, she was the topic of the internet.
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver returned in February, and the risqué and romantic Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special debuted there for a fun and silly holiday.
Season 2 of Perry Mason and season 4 of Succession have long-awaited premiere dates in March. Warning: this is the last season of the previous show, so fans shouldn’t expect any happy endings from their final encounter with this dysfunctional family.
In March, we’ll also have to say farewell to The Last of Us for the foreseeable future. The series finale will air on March 12th. The show has been picked up for a second season, so at some point in the not-too-distant future, we’ll be back on this planet overrun by zombies and fungi.
New seasons of other significant tentpoles including And Just Including That… and Barry will premiere in 2023. Premiere times, however, have yet to be disclosed. The same can be said for the remainder of the shows on the list below, but it does give us hope, especially for those waiting for the fourth seasons of Teen Titans and Doom Patrol. Here is a list of what’s coming on HBO Max in May.
- Succession (Season 4) — The Logans own the world’s largest media and entertainment conglomerate. But everything alters when their father leaves his position at the corporation.
- Titans (Season 4, Part 2) — Young heroes from around the DC Universe come of age and try to find their place in this dark retelling of the “Teen Titans” series.
- Barry (Season 4) — Barry, who murders for a living, finds fulfillment in performing while tracking down his prey. Surprisingly, he likes it so much that he wants to abandon his previous lifestyle.
- Somebody Somewhere (Season 2) — Sam has difficulty fitting in with the locals in Kansas. Later, though, she discovers a group of people who share her experiences and perspectives on life’s hardships.
- White House Plumbers — The true story of how E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy, two of Nixon’s political saboteurs and Watergate masterminds, unintentionally brought down the president they were trying to protect.
- The Other Two — An aspiring actor and his sister Brooke, a former dancer, struggle to establish their footing in the world as they deal with their mixed emotions regarding their younger brother Chase’s overnight online success.
- Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai — Sam Wing and Gizmo the Mogwai’s early exploits in China.
- SmartLess: On the Road — The popular podcast hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett goes on the road.
