Klaus awakens in the Void following his unintentional death at the hands of Diego’s son, Stan. He travels by foot to a seashore and then enters a tomb. Inside, Reginald kneels down next to the younger version of himself who is slouched against the wall and continues to carry on his experiments. After falling off a roof in a recollection from his adolescent years, Klaus suddenly finds himself back where he was when Stan had shot him earlier. He understands that he genuinely passed away; these were not near-death experiences. Klaus discovers his mother at a table on the beach after leaving the mausoleum. She observes that he has passed away fifty-six times already and assures him that he should not keep grieving for her death.
When Viktor learns that Harlan is responsible for the murder of the Umbrella Academy’s mothers, he sets out to find him and demand the truth about what happened. An accident occurred. Harlan sensed Viktor again on the day Sissy passed away, so he reached out. But Viktor was not there. The mothers, who were now afraid because they could feel something forming inside of them, had reached out to him. Harlan attempted to sever the connection but was unable. After that day, he went into hiding until now, when he once again felt Viktor’s abilities.
After Jayme and Alphonso’s deaths at the Hotel Obsidian, Fei and Ben disagree over what to do next. Since people from all over the world are disappearing right now, Fei wants to collaborate with the Umbrellas to address their mounting problem in the basement, but Ben is more interested in punishing Harlan first. They stand before the Kugelblitz in the basement with Grace and make an effort to examine it more closely using her eye to gather more information.
