The second episode of Season three starts with Luther going out of the Hotel Obsidian for a run, where he is followed by ravens and kidnapped by the Sparrows. The Sparrows believe that the Umbrella siblings were involved with Marcus’s disappearance, and kidnapping Luther was a way of getting back at them. While Luther expects his siblings to come and rescue him, they hardly notice his absence, so they go on with their activities.
But, Luther enjoys the Sparrow Academy hospitality, appreciating the gym, the food, and the company of Sloane (aka the Sparrow’s Five) who controls gravity, and pretty quickly captures Luther’s heart.
Allison looks for her husband and her daughter in this changed world, but finds he has a different family entirely, meaning her daughter no longer exists. Vanya looks through her family history and eventually decides to change her sexual identity and name likewise. He settles on Victor and asks his brothers and sisters to now call him by that name. They generally take it in stride.
Five and Klaus go on a road trip, with Klaus intending to find his birth mother and Five going on a retreat since he feels he is now retired. Klaus finds a woman who may be his aunt and discovers that his mother died the day before his birthday.
Meanwhile, Victor plans to have a follow up meeting with Marcus in hopes of making peace and fetching their missing briefcase. Of course, Macus has been vaporized by the ball of energy. Allison tags along with Victor, but obviously Marcus never shows up. They are forced to return to the hotel when Allison has a panic attack. Meanwhile, Diego and his son, who was previously dropped off by the time-traveling Lila, meet and fight Sparrow’s Alphonso and Jayme at the pharmacy.
Five and Klaus are eventually chased away by Amish farmers, and they bring their siblings the news that all their mothers died one day before they were born in this timeline. Elsewhere, Luther tries to escape from the Sparrow Academy but is pulled back by Sloane. The episode ends amid Luther and Sloane’s kiss as they float within Sloane’s bedroom.
