Jake and Hiroto were expected to have one more meeting following the conclusion of Tokyo Vice episode two, which dealt with the conclusion of episode three.
Highlights Of The Episode
It has to take place sometime before the opening scene of episode one. Still, for now, we get to Tomazawa in the flesh instead of the menacing-looking Yakuza boss we have seen throughout the remainder of the series. He’s sick, and general practice treats the pain.
Jake and Hiroto discuss the incident that happened at the bar. The former attempts to persuade the latter on how the city functions.
Review
There were a lot of meaningful progressions in this episode, especially compared to the last two episodes.
It was quicker-paced, and at last, the two distinct worlds between our characters seem to have collided with that ending.
It’s no surprise that Jake’s job led him to become a suspected member of a brewing gang. Like Hiroto, he is a mere foothold away from being involved in a dangerous gang rivalry that could escalate.
Watch Or Not
The episode didn’t live up to the hype of the first two episodes, but overall, the regular season 2 on Sunday night was an equal solid challenge.
This episode gets a 4 out of 5.
