Detective Griggs helps Mickey scare off the man at the door. They talk, and Mickey realizes Griggs set up the incident to get Mickey to be more cooperative. He confronts Griggs, and Griggs confesses. Griggs tells Mickey that Jerry was in contact with the Feds for some unknown reason. Mickey and Griggs decide to let everyone think that Mickey found Jerry’s backup files and knows what Jerry knew. Griggs provides Mickey with protection.
In the meantime, Mickey defends Sam Scales for collecting donations for a fake charity.
Bruce Carlin contacts Mickey and lets Mickey know that he, Bruce, knows Jerry didn’t make any backup files. Bruce arranges to meet Mickey to tell him the connection between the Trevor Elliott case and Jerry Vincent’s murder. Mickey has to ditch his protection team. Cisco and Izzy help Mickey lose his security, but Bruce says Mickey didn’t come alone and disappears . Mickey and Cisco realize there is a bug in the Lincoln, but they decide to leave it.
Mickey arranges a plea bargain for Eli Wyms but can’t figure how the Wyms case it is connected to Trevor Elliott.
Bruce Carlin returns but gets hit by a car during a routine traffic stop.
