The most recent biopic of the Royal Family is Pablo Larran's, "Spencer." The movie takes place one year before Prince Charles and Diana publicly announced their split. Kristen Stewart plays Princess Diana who is spending her last Christmas holiday with the Royal Family in the year 1991. The film explores the emotional turmoil and mental downfall Princess Diana experienced in the midst of her husband's affair, an eating disorder, and the Royal family's disapproval of her.
The King's Speech (2010)
The political thriller, The King's Speech, directed by Tom Hooper, was a box office winning numerous Oscar categories. Colin Firth plays rising King George VI alongside Helena Bonham Carter and Geoffrey Rush. In the film, he battles to conquer a speech impairment in a dire situation at the start of World War II.
