Princess Switch 3 Review

Netflix released the latest in their Princess Switch holiday Christmas movie "saga" (can we really call it that?), called Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star. And this time, it's Fiona's time to shine. Here's a review.

What's It About?

To get you up to speed really quick, Vanessa Hudgens is the star of these Princess Switch movies. And you might have guessed, but she plays the roles of all three characters: Stacy, the baker from America, Margaret, the queen of Montenaro, and Fiona, Margaret's very different cousin.

Fiona proved to be a big hit in the second installment, so writers and producers brought her back for this third movie. We find her in a sequined beanie and stiletto heels, mopping the floors of the local convent and orphanage as a way of paying off her community service that she was served last year trying to steal her cousin's crown (yes, she was a villain).

She's enlisted for help by her cousin Margaret and Stacy. Why? The Vatican has lent Montenaro one of their prized possessions: The Star of Peace. But it has gone mysteriously missing. And Fiona is the only one with hands in the black market world that would be able to help them.

But time is ticking. They need to get the Star back before the much-anticipated Christmas pageant at the royal castle, and before anyone knows the Star is gone.

Fiona rises to the task and produces an ex love interest who happens to be a former Interpol officer to assist her.

Watch It Or Not?

As far as cheesy Christmas movies go, I think the Princess Switch series are better than most. I liked that this one evolved Fiona's character into something less catty and villain-like, but exposed her vulnerability and let her grow.
