Hulu, more than any other streaming service, is going all out this October with a ton of horror films, the complete Schitt’s Creek series, and more. Here are this month’s top selections on the service.
1. Schitt’s Creek: The Complete Series (Oct. 3)
Schitt’s Creek, the first television program to win all seven major Emmy awards in a single year, may be the sitcom that best represents the decade of the 2010s. This one is always worth a binge, and it’s now available on Hulu thanks to fantastic performances, hilarious settings, and highly quotable lines.
2.Hellraiser (Oct. 7)
On Hulu, the horror series by Clive Barker gets a reboot. Did you know that the Hellraiser franchise consists of 10 movies? Many of them are fairly awful, but this new one, directed by The Night House’s David Bruckner and starring Jamie Clayton as the evil Pinhead, seems like it might be good.
3. Grimcutty (Oct. 10)
Do you recall how all the youngsters were enamored with the spooky Internet meme Momo, a woman who resembled a bird and “challenged” them to do risky things, a year or two ago? In Hulu’s interpretation of the idea, a nefarious being that stalks teenagers on social media has materialized as Grimcutty.
4. Crimes Of The Future (Oct. 31)
Crimes Of The Future, which saw a limited release this summer but makes its Hulu debut on Halloween, is where David Cronenberg’s fascination with body horror reaches a gory peak. You don’t want to miss this discussion about horrifying conspiracies, organ growth, sexual surgery, and microplastics in food.
