In classic Star Wars fashion, the beginning scene opens up with a lot of action. Storm Troopers are attacking the Jedi training facility. A Jedi teacher is valiantly trying to defend the young students. Star Wars fans will recognize this as the scene that fundamentally changes Anakin Skywalker into child-murdering Darth Vador.
Fast forward 10 years into the future, we are transported to a desert town where 3 imposing dark side inquisitors land and begin menacing the inhabitants. They are looking for particular Jedi.
Obi-Wan is that Jedi. He has been hiding out in this desert town under the name of "Ben". He has been helping out the citizens when he can but mostly living the mundane life of a butcher. His modest home: a cave.
Next, we are introduced to a very young Princess Leia in her home. She is smart, snarky, and mischievous but not lacking a sweet disposition. She is frustrated by the commitment she must make to her royal position.
In the desert town, an inquisitor threatens a man and his family's life. She wants to know where Obi-Wan is hiding. The encounter is quickly interrupted by a higher-ranking inquisitor. There is dissension among the inquisitors.
While walking in the woods, Leia is suddenly surrounded by ominous figures. They are there to kidnap young Leia. A chase ensues. She is screaming when a guard comes running. Suddenly the rescuer is struck down with a phaser shot. The kidnappers have won.
Leia's parents plead with Obi-Wan to help them find Leia. Obi-Wan is still wracked with guilt over Anikan's turn to the dark side. Reluctantly he agrees to join the search.
Aboard the kidnapper's ship, a call comes in from one of the dark side inquisitors. The kidnapping is a trap to catch Obi-Wan.
