Three Lessons from Obi-Wan Kenobi’s third episode
In the third episode of Star Wars: The Old Republic’s story, Obi-Wan Kenobi’s character grows and develops in interesting ways. Here are 3 things you can learn from this episode.
The Jedi Code
Despite his reputation for wisdom and altruism, Obi-Wan failed to follow one of The Jedi Code’s first directives: There is no emotion; there is peace. The code cautions against losing oneself in passion and anger by cultivating a sense of detachment and control.
Yet, in Ambush, Obi-Wan loses his temper with Anakin when he brings Padme into their quarters. He would have done better to be more like Master Yoda, who abided by one of The Jedi Code’s most critical edicts: Do or do not.
The Force Is Powerful
The more you let go, and trust that you’re in good hands, even during times of uncertainty, stressful circumstances or when life throws a curve ball your way, something quite remarkable happens: You gain clarity.
Once you stop fighting against what is (or against anything else), you relax and begin to experience more peace and happiness than ever before.
The Death Star’s Weakness
The Death Star seemed like an unstoppable force, but it had a major weakness. The Rebel Alliance only needed to find one flaw and they could exploit it, which they were using Luke Skywalker.
If you’re going to succeed in life, you too will need to find one flaw in your competition and then exploit it. Be creative with how you do so! Think outside of the box; don’t just try to copy what others are doing—your new idea might surprise even your competition!
