Jesse Eisenberg's follow-up to "A Real Pain", an Oscar-winning movie, has expanded its cast. Fresh faces such as Halle Bailey, Havana Rose Liu, and Bernadette Peters are joining stars Julianne Moore, Paul Giamatti, and Eisenberg on the set of this untitled musical comedy. Other notable cast members include Eldar Isgandarov, Bonnie Milligan, Colton Ryan, Lilli Cooper, and Maulik Pancholy.

The story unfolds around a timid woman, played by Moore, who is cast unexpectedly in a local theater musical. Losing herself in the role, she takes things to unprecedented extremes. The film comes from Topic Studios and Emma Stone's Fruit Tree, with A24 involved in its production.

Besides acting, Eisenberg has also written the original music and lyrics for the film's musical. The music team is nothing short of notable figureheads in the industry, with Steven Gizicki ("A Complete Unknown," "La La Land") taking on the role of music supervisor and Bill Sherman ("In the Heights") serving as the executive music producer. The film's choreography is in the capable hands of Andy Blankenbuehler ("Hamilton"), and Drew Daniels ("Anora") as the cinematographer.

The film provides a reunion stage for Eisenberg, Fruit Tree, and A24, marking their second collaboration following Eisenberg's 2023 directorial debut "When You Finish Saving the World." They had earlier joined forces on projects like "I Saw the TV Glow" and "The Curse." Eisenberg's commendable work in his recent film, "A Real Pain", earned him an Oscar nomination for best original screenplay, and co-star Kieran Culkin bagged an Academy Award for best supporting actor.
