Neon - Episode 3 Recap

In episode 3 of "Neon," Santi drops by his cousin's law firm and can't resist making a pass at the receptionist, to Sebastian's disapproval. Assuming his family ties would guarantee him a job, Santi is taken aback when Sebastian hints it's not certain. Sebastian's displeasure at Santi's presumptuousness is evident, though Santi tries to charm him with a catchy slogan idea for the firm.

Elsewhere, Felix heads to a grocery store for Wi-Fi access, where he runs into Ness. Tensions rise between the two when Santi appears, leading to a debate about the existence of the store's fabled owner, Eduardo. Much to their surprise, Eduardo makes a timely entrance and is pleased to find that Santi recognizes him. The celebrity connection runs deeper, with Eduardo's granddaughter being an avid fan of Santi's new track, "Exagerao." This prompts Eduardo to welcome Santi with open arms.

Seizing the opportunity, Ness suggests that Santi and Felix collaborate on a promotional video for the store to attract a younger clientele. The catch? Eduardo wants his granddaughter featured in the video. Initially hesitant, Santi and Felix warm up to the idea, especially after Santi decides to remix an old jingle about Eduardo.

The next day sees Santi creatively reimagining the jingle, earning praise from Mia. However, professional tensions simmer as Oscar, Mia's colleague, consistently overlooks her contributions, promoting a newcomer above her. As they embark on the music video project, Felix and Mia become aware of a disparaging article penned by Celeste about Santi and his team. The criticisms shake the team's confidence, leading to delays and budgetary concerns during the video shoot. Amidst this, Santi's flirtatious tendencies surface again, this time directed at Eduardo's granddaughter, which Ness promptly discourages.

Concurrently, Mia's attempts to connect with Oscar reveal personal challenges he faces as a new parent. Their conversation seems promising, but she's later hurt upon overhearing Oscar's ulterior motives for promoting the new employee. In addition, she receives a distressing message from Felix regarding the video shoot's ongoing issues.

Amidst the chaos, Sebastian throws Santi a curveball with a third interview, stating he's doing it more as a favor to Santi's family than out of genuine interest. The revelation leaves Santi feeling unsupported and undervalued by his family.

In a strategic move to boost morale, Ness invites the critical Celeste to the store under a ruse. Though initially irate, Celeste's confrontation with Santi ultimately serves as motivation for him to rise above his detractors.

Mia, having overheard office politics and feeling undervalued by Oscar, visits the video shoot location. Her encouragement reignites Felix's confidence, leading to a successful video shoot that is well-received by everyone, except a begrudgingly impressed Sebastian, who even adopts Santi's slogan.

The episode touches on the challenges of professional dynamics, with Mia continually overshadowed by Oscar's ego. The growing camaraderie between Mia and Felix is a highlight, showcasing mutual support in times of self-doubt. Similarly, Celeste and Santi's interactions emphasize the shared struggles of proving oneself amidst skepticism.
