Episode 5 of Moon Knight begins with Steven hovering in Dr. MacPherson’s office, oblivious to what’s transpiring. It turns out the hippo god was it’s all a hallucination. As the great physician reveals, he’s a restrained patient at Putnam, Inc.
Arthur has Marc given sedatives so that he can be carried to wherever the Hippo goddess of women and children is. In this way, Marc is brought back to his hideaway, where Taweret resides.
Taweret says they were shot within a colossal, aka the Duat. Then, she reminds them of what awaits them in the afterlife.

The scales continue to sway up and down, which shows that their hearts are not complete. Despite their mystique, their mystique is that the only way they’re going to stand the challenge is to find more of their lives and become complete, exploring exactly what they’re hiding.
Marc and Steven’s trip through the dark recesses of their minds takes a route through the dark leaves of the cafeteria. The people Marc has killed unwittingly find themselves sitting at different tables where the confrontation starts.
Steven notices a little boy and follows him through a door to his last place of residence. This happens to be Marc’s former residence, where he leads his brother through the forest with the doctor’s alias, which he dubs his brother.
Steven leads the children into a cave where water continues to rise, so Marc’s brother drowned there many years before. Now, his sister is angry with Marc for causing her brother’s death and isolating herself from him.
Review
This hasn’t been the most smooth episode of the show so far, but it has undoubtedly been the best; a dazzling, spectacular display of visual prowess bringing thoughtful, long-awaited clarification about Steven Marc’s past.
