The 2nd episode of Moon Knight, in which Steven returns, starts with him waking up in a different place than the dialog box frame that ended last week. Steven then eventually rolls over to the security guard, calling him Scotty.
Surprisingly, there is no jackal in sight, and the security footage shows Steven running throughout the museum like a nutjob. Luckily for him, the museum did not press charges against the damage done in the bathroom.
The gold scarab Steven held in the dream hometown is also here, and the previous passports are listed under the name Marc Spector.
Moonknight Episode 2 Recap (Highlights)
Steven’s reflection tells Marc that he’s an understanding avatar of Kohnshu, the Egyptian God of the Moon. His goal is to assist those who are despised and provide relief to those suffering.
DC Kennedy and DC Fitzgerald show up at Steven’s apartment. There, they find the fake passport and the gun. Naturally, they arrest and cuff Kurtz for going around murdering archaeologists’ heads after cable-tying them.
Arthur wants to resurrect Ammit to rid the world of evil altogether. The scarab is a marker that continues to lead them back to Ammit’s tomb, which is the reason he loves it so much.
Moon Knight quickly takes charge of the jackal and pierces it on the side of a church.
Arthur finally gains possession of it and is one stage closer to unraveling the riddle of Ammit.
Review
Moon Knight returns, and we learn more regarding Marc Spector and the double life Steven has been living this time.
The show struggles, yet again, with its tone, which feels split. It doesn’t know if it wants to be lighthearted Marvel quips, slapstick, and more bloody and visceral action.
Yet another 3.5 out of 5 stars.
