Blue Fox Entertainment is set to distribute the biographical drama film, 'Lost on a Mountain In Maine'. The motion picture, which is due to commence its theatrical journey on November 1, is based on real-life events.
The film originates from Balboa Productions, a Sylvester Stallone venture. It narrates the gripping tale of Donn Fendler, a twelve-year-old boy who is separated from his family due to a precipitous storm on a perilous mountain. The story focuses on Donn's nine-day struggle to survive in the harsh wilderness of northern Maine, devoid of food, suitable attire or a complete understanding of his dire predicament. His missing status ignites a substantial search mission – featuring in national headlines and involving countless volunteers, including his own father who is faced with the grim possibility of never reuniting with his son.
The film's cast includes Luke David Blumm, known for 'The King of Staten Island,' Paul Sparks from Netflix's 'House of Cards,' Caitlin FitzGerald from Showtime's 'Masters of Sex,' and Ethan Slater, notable for his role in 'Wicked.' The film, produced by Stallone, recently made its premiere to a full house at the Maine International Film Festival, held at the 810-seat Waterville Opera House.
The film is directed by Andrew Boodhoo Kightlinger, with a screenplay by Luke Paradise, both inspired by Fendler's 1978 book which chronicled his childhood ordeal. Alongside Stallone, the film's executive producers include Braden Aftergood, Dick Boyce, Ryan Cook, Heather Grehan, Derek Desmond, Stephanie Blackwood and Mario Nicosia.
Boodhoo Kightlinger stated his excitement about the film reflecting a classic American plot woven with riveting performances, notably by its young star, all set amidst real wilderness. He lauded Blue Fox for bringing this true and inspiring story of determination, hope and family values to the general public with a theatrical release.
Recent successful ventures from Balboa Productions include the documentary film 'Sly,' and the Stallone-fronted superhero movie 'Samaritan' on Amazon Prime. They also produced the TV series 'Tulsa King,' currently in its second season filming, which debuted on Paramount+ in November 2022.
Blue Fox Entertainment’s recent contributions to US cinema include the young-adult dramedy 'Empire Waist,' the animated surfing comedy 'The Greatest Surf Movie in the Universe,' starring Luke Hemsworth, and 'Take My Hand' starring Radha Mitchell.
