Grammy award-winning artist Usher's recent concert tour has been filmed and is coming to movie theaters globally this fall. Titled "Usher: Rendezvous in Paris", the concert film is set to premiere in around 2,000 locations worldwide on September 12.
The press release described the concert film as an amalgamation of Usher's electrifying Las Vegas performances, adjusted with an enticing French touch. The scenes are captured from his show during Paris Fashion Week at La Seine Musicale. The film, directed by Anthony Mandler, features Usher performing his chartbuster songs including “Yeah,” “My Boo” and “Love In This Club," and offers fans an intimate look at his life off the stage.
Usher expressed his excitement about the film saying, “Paris was a special experience for me as an entertainer and for my fans. For those who weren’t able to make it in person, I hope this film gives them a feel of how special it was."
The film will be distributed in the United States and worldwide by Trafalgar Releasing, in collaboration with AMC Theatres Distribution. AMC and Odeon are set to provide key marketing support for the film domestically and internationally. This marks a continuation of AMC's venture into distribution, following the release of films including “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” and “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé.”
Adam Aron, AMC's chairman, lauded Usher and emphasized the suitability of bringing his music to movie theaters, especially after his performance at the Super Bowl Half Time Show, which gathered rave reviews from an audience of 129 million.
