Fittingly, Nicolas texts Mindy again. This time, he asks her to invite Emily, who wants to come and talk business, to a movie that night. Womp. After running into Gabriel, Mindy thinks she should join nonetheless. He accidentally spills the beans that Camille is in Greece with Sofia for her exhibition. He doesn't even know he's being cheated on.
Emily and Sylvie visit Gregory's atelier at work. Jeremy O. Harris returns as a dramatic fashion designer pitching the Agence Grateau team on his Air France line. To Julien's pleasure, he distributes condoms, lubricant, and poppers while ranting about flight attendants being doms and passengers being subs.
After presenting models in latex and chokers, everyone attempts to lessen the shock of Air France clearly not wanting this style for their staff, but Sylvie needs to leave to take a call. Gregory claims he doesn't care about their opinion now that she left and is displaying his outfits. Later that night, Mindy puts on a Gregory-sent outfit to go to the movie with Nicolas. Mindy adores the small red beret and corset from his Air France collection, which the company rejected.
At the screening, Mindy's skin-tight outfit contrasts with Nicolas's dull outfit (a navy suit). Emily talks about Cadault's store with Nicolas. Clearly upset, he calls the designer "infuriating" and "never satisfied."
He leaves after being told to be patient. After he leaves, Mindy appears and informs Emily they're at a "notorious hookup site." Emily and Gabriel watch How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days while she searches for Nicolas.
As Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson make out on television, many audience members do the same. One of Nicolas' buddies flirts with Gabriel, but Emily stops him. She laughs and asks Gabriel and Emily how long they've been together. They leave after saying they're in a relationship, but she doesn't grasp it. Emily calls How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days "so conventional" because the leads end up together. Gabriel on the other hand believes audiences adore witnessing two people resist their attraction to one other.
Emily and Gabriel hold hands and leap into a brightly illuminated ball pit exhibit away from the theater. Even the dreamy techno soundtrack over a montage of them posing for shots is Instagramable and rom-com-within-a-rom-com. They never go beyond hand-holding, though.
While they're having fun, Mindy finishes her night with Nicolas. He asks her to get a drink before they admit they can't tell if the other likes them. He says, “every male there was looking you out,” and she says, “yeah, except for you,” which is brutal, but they kiss and we see that he was into her all along. They split for the night after Cadault keeps calling Nicolas, so they pledge to see one other again. Benoit never appears. RIP!
Next day, Nicolas calls Emily to request her agency's assistance with Cadault. She's happy, and Sylvie organizes a lunch with him to discuss, but Nicolas says they'll work with Cadault's brand and drive the designer out, bringing Gregory (his adversary) in to run the show. Emily, who invited Cadault to lunch to celebrate, had to deal with this, which is dreadful. Cadault arrives at the worst time, just as Nicolas tells Sylvie and Emily that JVMA is cutting him out. He gets hit by a car crossing the street to join them at the table, and we don't see what happens next, but Emily's dilemma may be fixed.
