Check out Some Late Summer Movies this September

Fall is only a few weeks away, but that means we still get another group of movies hitting theaters or streaming (or both) in September, before the cooler temps starting rolling in.

Friday, September 3

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings - This is definitely the highlight of the month, with the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe release, introducing an entirely new corner of the MCU, focused on the hero, Shang-Chi. The trailers look great, so we’re excited for this one!

Cinderella - Another retelling of the classic story, starring Camilla Cabello and Pierce Brosnan. 

We Need to Do Something - A house of horrors thrill ride. 

Yakuza Princess - Set in Brazil, this tells the story of an orphan who discovers she is the heir to half of the sprawling Yakuza crime syndicate.

Hands Up - After his cousin is killed by a police officer in Chicago, an inner-city teen seeks a wy out of a dangerous situation.

The Gateway - A gritty crime thriller featuring an in over his head social worker who attempts to keep a woman safe from her recently paroled husband.

Malignant - A freakish horror story mixed with a superhero origin story, where a terminal cancer patient discovers that his cancer is actually a strange parasite that gives him extraordinary powers. 

Queenpines - An outrageous comedy with Vince Vaughn and Kristen Bell about a group of coupon clippers who hatch a scheme to scam millions from giant corporations.

Catch the Bullet - It’s always cool to see a Western make it’s way to the theaters.

Copshop - A story about a con artist on the run from a lethal hitman in a small Nevada town. 

Prisoners in Ghostland - Nicolas Cage is a ruthless bank robber who is released from prison to find a missing girl. The hook? He’s strapped into a suit that will explode in 5 days if he isn’t successful.

The Duke - Set in 1961, this is the true story of a 60-year old cab driver who steals a Goya portrait from the National Gallery in London.

I Love Us - A love story between a mobster and a single mom.

Dear Evan Hansen - It’s back-to-school season so check out this film about a high schooler who creates a story to become closer to the family of a deceased classmate. 

This is the Year - More high school drama as a group of teens hits the road to see their favorite band at a big music festival.
