Catching Fire: The Story of Anita Pallenberg (2023) — Trailer Review

Magnolia Pictures unveils the much-anticipated trailer for the documentary, "Catching Fire: The Story of Anita Pallenberg," set to hit screens on May 3. The voiceover for Pallenberg comes from none other than Scarlett Johansson, pulling directly from Pallenberg's unpublished memoir. The documentary also features appearances by Pallenberg's offspring, Marlon and Angela Richards, as well as Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards.

The film, directed by Alexis Bloom and Svetlana Zill, delves into the life of the renowned rock 'n’ roll muse, actress and a cherishing mother, who was notoriously termed an "evil seductress" and allegedly tried to sabotage the Rolling Stones.

"Catching Fire" premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last year, where it was described by critic Owen Gleiberman as a captivating portrayal of Anita Pallenberg - the radiant and dominant figure of the '60s and ‘70s rock scene, her acting career in Hollywood, her status as scruffy-chic rock royalty, and her relationship with Keith Richards, among others in the Rolling Stones.

Enhanced by Pallenberg’s memoir and a vast wealth of home-movie footage, the film provides a first-hand experience of Anita's and Keith's life away from the limelight and behind the curtains, endorsing the serene tranquility of their lives. The film narrates how Pallenberg, initially charmed by the charismatic Brian Jones, started to associate with the Rolling Stones in 1965 during a concert in Munich.

"Catching Fire - The Story of Anita Pallenberg" will be available in theaters and VOD platforms from May 3.
