Catch Brad Pitt Back on the Race Track: Everything We Know About The 2025 Film 'F1'

Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt is set to be seen back on the race track in the upcoming action-packed movie 'F1'. Slated for a summer 2025 debut, this film has been on our watchlist for a while now and the excitement couldn't be more palpable.

Among the summer blockbusters of 2025, 'F1' is eagerly awaited. The movie is produced by Warner Bros. Pictures and Apple Original Films and scheduled to hit the big screen on June 27, 2025, competing with other big releases like M3GAN 2.0, 28 Years Later, Ballerina, and Mission: Impossible 8. Following its theatrical release, the movie will be available to Apple TV+ subscribers just like previous Apple Original Films.

In 'F1', Brad Pitt portrays Sonny Hayes, a retired Formula 1 star who comes back to his racing career after enduring a devastating crash years ago. He will be joined by Damson Idris in the role of Joshua Pearce, an emerging race driver and Sonny’s Formula 1 teammate upon his return. Several other actors will also be part of the movie, their character details yet to be released.

The movie will chart the story of Sonny Hayes, his comeback to racing and his journey as the mentor of an up-and-coming driver in the struggling APXGP team. Judging from the teaser trailer released in July 2024, the movie guarantees intense F1 racing action.

Joseph Kosinski, the filmmaker behind 'Top Gun: Maverick' and 'Tron: Legacy', among others, is the director of this film. The visual experience of 'F1' is enhanced with cutting edge technology – lighter and smaller Sony cameras mounted on race cars, allowing for real-time control of panning and focusing were employed in the filming process.

Adding to the authenticity of the race scenes, parts of the movie were shot at live Formula 1 Grand Prix events in 2023. F1 champions like Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, and Carlos Sainz Jr. will also make appearances in the movie, with Hamilton playing a key role in its development.

The movie doesn't have a rating yet, but based on similar films, it can be expected to have a PG-13 rating to reach a wider audience. As we anticipate more details in the near future, 2024 still has a delightful roster of movies to look forward to.
