After receiving a call that makes him fear for Vibiana’s safety, Bosch rushes to her location. As soon as he arrives at her apartment complex, he starts planning a few diversions that will hopefully allow him to get her and her son out of the structure and to a safe location without bringing them into contact with the woman who was ordered to kill them both.
As Davis’ case begins to take shape, Chandler meets with the judge assigned to the case and makes a case for access to all of the cops’ bodycam footage from the shooting scene on that day.
Maddie’s mysterious caller from the previous episode magically reappears, but before their conversation has a chance to really take off, the radio announces reports of a shooting, and the two of them rush to the scene.
When Bosch catches up with Mo, he learns that he is also assisting Chandler with the Davis investigation. Given Maddie’s involvement, this makes Bosch unhappy, and he later spars with Chandler over it. He also has his tech expert analyze the video from Vibiana’s apartment the previous night, and through doing so, he is able to catch a glimpse of the assassin who was sent there to assassinate her.
As he prepares to pursue the assassin dispatched to assassinate Vibiana and her kid, Bosch is engaged in his own valiant struggle. The bakehouse where she thinks her targets are hiding after drawing her there. Eventually, the murderer is drawn into one of the bedrooms, where Bosch finally catches up with her. There is a brief shootout, but Bosch emerges the victor. For the first time in weeks, Vibiana and her kid are secure again, and Bosch brings them home with the parting advice to use their newly-acquired wealth for good purpose.
