In a recent conversation with IGN, Anthony Mackie, known for his role as Sam Wilson in "Captain America: Brave New World", hinted that the Russo Brothers' upcoming movie, "Avengers: Doomsday", symbolizes a return to the glory period of the Marvel franchise.

"We're all ready and looking forward to it this week. With the current script and the Russo brothers back on board, I have a feeling it's going to be awesome," said Mackie. He added, "I am especially thrilled for what this project brings to the table – it's set to rekindle that quintessential Marvel feeling among the audience".

Scheduled to premiere on May 1, 2026, "Avengers: Doomsday" boasts a star-studded cast from the Marvel universe – Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Danny Ramirez as the new Falcon (Joaquin Torres), Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier, and Paul Rudd returning as Ant-Man. The movie also marks the comeback of Marvel legend Robert Downey Jr., who, in a surprising twist, will be seen as the movie's antagonist, Victor Von Doom, and not Tony Stark.

The cast also features several actors from the “X-Men” franchise including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, James Marsden as Cyclops, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, and Channing Tatum, who will reprise his 2024 debut role of Gambit from "Deadpool & Wolverine".

Before the debut of "Doomsday", Marvel plans to release two key projects in 2025: "Thunderbolts", debuting May 2, and "The Fantastic Four: First Steps", releasing July 25.
