Carrie finds herself sharing breakfast with two senior characters from her past, her erstwhile podcast co-host and Enid Frick (Candice Bergen), her former editor from Vogue. Enid’s humorously uncomfortable demeanor persists. This causes tension when Carrie requests a shoutout for her new book in Enid's widely read newsletter. Enid turns her down, humorously portraying a facet of the publishing industry rarely shown in the SATC universe.

Enid suggests an alternate arrangement: Carrie can contribute to Enid's upcoming website, Vivant, a platform for women of their generation. Carrie is left mulling over the implication that she's seen as being in her 70s, rather than her actual 50s. However, after seeking advice from Seema, she decides to use the situation to her advantage. She offers to write for Vivant in exchange for a newsletter mention. This pragmatic approach initially disturbs Carrie, but she resolves to attend the launch party, mindful of Seema's warning to safeguard her youthful image.

Meanwhile, Charlotte, Harry, Lisa, and Herbert are preparing to send their children to summer camp, promising a few weeks of adult freedom. Charlotte encourages Harry to let go, leading to a comic moment of sexual tension. Alarmed by a sexual hiccup, they consult a doctor, relieved to find a solution through simple Kegel exercises.

Back in Brooklyn, Miranda spends her time on the couch as Steve vents his frustration upstairs. However, it’s only a punching bag bearing the brunt of his frustration. Inevitably, the family lands in therapy.

During their session, Brady mentions that he's over his breakup after three weeks, but his parents still struggle with their own separation. He also discloses his decision to postpone college. This leads to an unusual moment where Miranda is unable to voice her concerns, acknowledging her role in their family's discord.

In NYC, Che returns from a road trip with their spouse Lyle, pushing Miranda out of her comfort zone. After a playful night, Che and Miranda end up sharing a couch, highlighting Miranda's evolving boundaries.

Simultaneously, Lisa and Herbert's anniversary dinner unfolds with few guests. In a mishap, Herbert forgets to send out the invites, leaving Mother Wexley, Charlotte, Harry, and Lisa's father, Lawrence Todd (Billy Dee Williams), as the only attendees. Amidst the awkward dinner, Lisa impulsively announces Herbert's political aspirations, driving the narrative forward.

At the Vivant launch, Carrie is drawn to the guests, including Gloria Steinem, who introduces the concept of aging as the “new frontier.” This serves as a poignant return to the theme of aging, encouraging Carrie to embrace it.

However, she finds it challenging to accept texts from an elderly admirer, Marlon Schafer, deeming him too old. At the Vivant party, she learns from Bitsy von Muffling that it was she who gave Marlon Carrie's number. Despite trying to dissuade Bitsy, she continues to advocate the importance of intimacy, sharing a rather inappropriate image of Marlon while Steinem delivers a distinguished speech.

Post-conversation with Steinem, Carrie agrees to write for Vivant without expecting anything in return. Yet, Enid reveals her true interest - $100,000 in funding. Seizing the opportunity, Carrie agrees to contribute the funds in exchange for a newsletter mention. The deal is sealed despite an awkward moment when Enid recognizes Marlon's explicit image on Carrie's phone - as he is her boyfriend. With that, Carrie promptly completes the transaction.
